WHERE TO STAY
A little guide to help you find your perfect stay on the island we love most.
✨✨✨
Paros is made up of small, charming hotels, boutique resorts, and beautiful villas. There isn’t one large property we could block for everyone... which is part of what makes the island so special. We’ve gathered our favorite areas and recommendations below to help you find a place that feels just right for your stay.
Here are a few tips to get you started:
🪩📍 Naoussa
While no events will take place here, we still highly recommend it for your stay.
If you want to be near bars, shops, great restaurants, and a lively atmosphere, stay in Naoussa. It’s perfect for those traveling solo or looking for vibrant energy. Mika and Stoan, along with their friends, will be staying here during the wedding week. Keep in mind this is the island’s most touristic area, so prices are are a bit higher relative to the rest of the island.
🐟📍 Drios/Golden Beach
The Beach Day and Shabbat dinner will take place near this area.
If you want a quieter, local, beach-forward experience near Albert & Sylvie’s villa, stay in Drios or Golden Beach. This area has become incredibly special to us... It is super peaceful, with wonderful local tavernas and a stunning beach. Some of the Abitbol family will be staying here.
🐚 📍Ampelas
The Welcome Party and Wedding will take place near this area.
If you'd like a quieter stay close to Naoussa, Ampelas is a lovely spot. Some of our family friends will be staying in this area.
✨✨✨
If you are looking for budget-friendly stays, look for the 🛏️ symbols on our map. Apartments on airbnb and booking.com are good places to look too.
📍 Naoussa
The Heartbeat of Paros
Charming and walkable, Naoussa is the most famous town in Paros, brimming with character and postcard perfect views. What was once a quaint fishing village is now filled with café-lined lanes, boutique shops, and small sandy beaches where you can wander from morning espresso to sunset cocktails without ever needing a car. By nighttime, Naoussa transforms into a lively, energetic atmosphere, with music and laughter spilling through the cobblestone streets and often lasting until the early hours. It’s also the most convenient base for exploring the island, with easy access to taxis and bus stops.
💡 Note: If you’re not planning to rent a car, this is likely the best area to stay.
📍 Ampelas
For a peaceful, resort-like seaside escape.
A beautiful seaside village known for its luxury resorts, stunning villas, and quiet charm. Just a 10 minute drive from Naoussa, it’s close enough for easy evenings in town yet feels worlds away. Mornings here begin with gorgeous cliffside walks and the sound of waves rolling onto tiny hidden beaches- some wild, some organized with daybeds. Ampelas has a soft, resort-like feel, peaceful and scenic, ideal if you want tranquility without being too far from the action.
💡 Note: There are many beautiful private villas you can find for rent, tucked around this area and the neighboring Santa Maria.
📍 Drios/Golden Beach
For an authentic, beach-forward experience near Albert & Sylvie's Villa
Tucked along Paros’s serene southeast coast, Drios feels like a glimpse into the island’s past- peaceful, authentic, and full of local charm. Narrow lanes wind past family-run tavernas and small seaside hotels, where life moves at an easy, unhurried pace. Just beyond the village, Golden Beach unfolds in a long, sunlit stretch of sand and crystal clear water. Perfect for swimming, watersports, or lounging on sun beds. It’s a truly beach forward, laidback escape that captures the nostalgic soul of Paros.
💡 Tip: Golden Beach Hotel is an extremely charming stay set right on the sand- small, beloved, and worth booking early.
📍 Parikia
The capital and main port of Paros.
Parikia is the island’s gateway, where ferries arrive against a backdrop of whitewashed lanes, seaside cafés, and golden sunsets over the bay. It’s the center of local life on Paros- a place to wander through charming streets lined with shops, spend the day at elegant beach clubs, or enjoy a sunset dinner by the water. While it’s lovely to visit, none of our wedding festivities will take place here, so it’s not our top recommendation for accommodations.
💡Note: As of now, our wedding event shuttles will not be running from this town.
GETTING TO PAROS
🧭 Travel Tips & Timing
Paros may take a little extra planning to reach, but it’s so worth it.
The journey itself- the sea, the views, the anticipation, is all part of the experience. 💙
Give yourself a full travel day to get there. We recommend arriving on Sunday, the day before the Welcome Party, so you can settle into the island and not feel rushed, especially if you're coming directly from the US/Canada. If you plan to arrive on Monday and attend the Welcome Party that evening, pay close attention to connection and travel times. Even though Paros is close to Athens, connections can take longer than expected, especially if you’re taking a ferry.
✈️ Flying to Paros
There are frequent daily flights from Athens to Paros (PAS) on airlines like Aegean and Sky Express. This is the quickest and most convenient option since you’ll already be at the airport- the flight is less than 30 minutes in the air. ✈️
The planes are small and seats fill up fast, so we recommend booking early to secure your preferred time.
Once you arrive, Paros Airport is about 25 minutes from Golden Beach and 40 minutes from Naoussa or Ampelas. Shuttles will be picking up guests roughly 30–40 minutes before events, so plan accordingly.
Note: Aegean and Olympic Air have partnered, so both websites will show the same flight options. Sky Express is a separate airline, so check both for the best schedule.
🚤 Taking the Ferry
The ferries from Athens are economical and scenic, especially if you’re spending time in the city of Athens first or coming from another island. ⛴️
The ride takes around 3.5-4.5 hours, and the port of Piraeus (in Athens) is about 45-60 minutes by taxi from the airport — which makes this route less ideal if you’re connecting directly after a flight.
If you plan to take the ferry on the same day you land in Athens, we recommend planning to arrive the day before the festivities. Most ferry departures you’d be able to catch after landing in Athens arrive in Paros late in the evening or at night.
🚙 Getting Around the Island
Do you need to rent a car? It truly depends on where you’re staying and how much you’d like to explore the island.
If you want the freedom to hop between beaches, villages, and viewpoints at your own pace, a car is recommended. Paros is easy to drive around, and most main towns are about 15–25 minutes apart.
There are also local buses that connect the main towns if you don’t mind slower travel. They usually run from around 9 AM – 11 PM, and fares are typically €2.50–€3.50 per person, depending on distance.
Quick snapshot:
Naoussa & Drios — 🚌 Bus access within town, possible to get around without car.
Ampelas & Private Villas — 🚗 No nearby bus stop, car or ATV needed.
Note: Our wedding shuttles will be provided only for the wedding events, so please plan your transportation accordingly for exploring the island during the rest of your stay.
Our hearts are brimming with joy...
...as we look forward to sharing this celebration of our love with you all.
We can already feel the meltemi winds, the golden hush of sunset, and the laughter that lingers long into the night until our feet can dance no more.
We can’t wait to live these days with you. 💛
We hope to see you in Paros.
